Meet Me!

Hey there! I’m Kayla and I am a 23 year old student, scientist, chemist, sister, cat lover, serious candy crusher, and more recently, photographer! I am currently finishing my master’s degree at Carleton University in chemistry. I spend my days running around a lab, doing experiments to test the dissociation constant of different aptamers for a mycotoxin called Ochratoxin A…. but I know no one is interested in that! When I am not in the lab I think about science about as little as possible, I love reading fiction books, eating St Huberts, pinning things (who doesn’t!), and playing with my cat Ion (I know how nerdy of me).

….But lets get to the point of this blog, photography! I started getting into the world of photography a little over a year ago and it was easily the best decision I have ever made. I spend a lot of my free time reading photography books and online blogs to learn as much as I can. Last year I took a short workshop on the basics of photography and since then my passion for photography has only increased! I am planning to move to Toronto when I graduate my masters and take the independent digital photography program at Seneca. I made this blog to be able to share my photographs and experiences on my journey to become a better photographer, I hope to learn from others and maybe even help others learn as well!

so now that you know a little bit about me and what I’m all about, I hope you enjoy my blog and if anyone ever wants to talk photography please don’t hesitate to let me know 🙂

Very nice to meet a a fellow Ottawa photographer. I just moved here from Toronto yesterday 🙂
I’m really enjoying your blog, and your photography, so keep up the great work. If you’re still in town, perhaps I’ll see you around.
